The mechanical response of wood- and cellulose-filled polymers and its comparison to analytical models is studied in this article. To model the elasto-plastic response of the wood–plastic composite (WPC), two explicit semi-analytical micromechanical methods were used: Mori–Tanaka Method (MTM) and Generalised Method of Cells (GMC). For experimental purpose, several test specimens composed of matrix polypropylene (PP) or polystyrene (PS) and filled with wood or cellulose short fibres of different length to width aspect ratio and various volume fractions were injection moulded. Tensile testing was then used to gain experimental data, which were then compared to the calculated prediction of proposed micromechanical models to test their applicability. The comparison of results show that both methods can accurately predict the response of the composite in the elastic area; however Mori–Tanaka Method can achieve better results when forecasting plastic deformations of wood–plastic composites. 相似文献

The study presents the epidemiological features of patients treated with renal replacement therapy (RRT) in Serbia from 1997 to 2009 and compares the results of hemodialysis treatment in 1999 and 2009. Epidemiological data were obtained from the National Registry of RRT patients and data on hemodialysis treatment from special surveys conducted in 1999 and 2009. Within the period 1997–2009 the incidence of patients on RRT increased from 108 to 179 per million population (pmp), prevalence rose from 435 to 699 pmp, while mortality rate fell from 20.7% to 16.7%. The frequency of patients with glomerulonephritis decreased, while that of patients with diabetes and hypertensive nephropathy increased. In late 2009 there were 5208 patients receiving RRT in Serbia. Within the examined period new hemodialysis and reverse osmosis equipment were purchased, high‐flux dialyzers with synthetic membranes were increasingly used and the number of patients receiving hemodiafiltration increased to 17.6%. Kt/V greater than 1.2 was recorded in 16% of the patients in 1999 but 52% in 2009. Options for correction of anemia and mineral disorders have also improved. The percentage of patients with HbsAg (13.8% vs. 4.8%) as well as anti‐hepatitis C virus antibodies positive patients (23.2% vs. 12.7%) was significantly lower in 2009 than in 1999. Both the incidence and prevalence of RRT patients in Serbia are rising continuously, while the mortality rate is falling. More favorable conditions for dialysis treatment have brought about significant improvement in the results over the last 10 years. 相似文献

Sodium niobate thin films doped with manganese (NN), and NN films modified with 5 or 10 mol % calcium zirconate (CZ) on platinized silicon substrates were prepared by chemical solution deposition. The 250-nm-thick films crystallize in a perovskite phase with fine, equiaxed grains. The NN films exhibit well-shaped ferroelectric loops with a remanent polarization and coercive field of ~10 μC/cm2 and ~100 kV/cm, respectively. The modification with CZ strongly influences the ferroelectric response of the films: the remanent polarization progressively decreases to around 2.5 μC/cm2. The absence of an anti-ferroelectric response, which has previously been confirmed in bulk NN-CZ ceramics, is attributed to the nanoscale microstructure and residual thermal stresses. All the studied films exhibit a piezoelectric response with the highest piezoelectric d33 coefficient of 35 pm/V at 300 kV/cm bias field for the NN modified films with 5 mol % CZ, making them candidates for lead-free piezoelectric thin-film applications. 相似文献

High-temperature reactions during the solid-state synthesis of samples from the (1-x)Na0.5Bi0.5TiO3–xSrTiO3 system were investigated. Due to the number of chemically different elements, the processing of these ceramics is delicate and requires several firing steps under specific conditions to obtain phase-pure samples. Sintering in an air atmosphere resulted in a macroscopically inhomogeneous microstructure, which is a consequence of incomplete reaction between different secondary phases. However, prolongation of the sintering time aggregated the pores in the sample, while at a higher firing temperature the sample’s secondary phase melted. As a result, the nominal composition was altered, leading to the formation of the Na2Ti6O13 secondary phase. Sintering under an increased oxygen pressure of 1 MPa limited the evaporation of the secondary phase. This allowed the completion of the reaction, forming a homogeneous and dense sample. The study provides a set of experimental conditions for the successful preparation of ceramics from the investigated system. 相似文献

Traditional speech and language pathology practice (SLPP) faces challenges delivering effective and timely therapy due to long waiting lists, the need for regular practice outside the clinic and a lack of children’s motivation to engage in persistent practice. Technology has untapped potential to address these issues and improve SLPP. This paper describes the design of a tablet app for delivering technology-enhanced therapy for children with speech sound disorders and investigates the impact of the use of apps on SLPP. The initial design was informed by a nation-wide survey of speech-language pathologists (SLPs). The quantitative analysis disclosed that even though SLPs positively perceive mobile technology, they do not currently fully exploit it in their practice due to a lack of apps in their native language and the limited usefulness of apps in foreign languages. Using a user-centred design process, a multidisciplinary team created three prototypes and a final version of an app that has been tested in real therapeutic sessions during everyday practice and informed by feedback from SLPs and children. The observation analysis is presented based on an adaptation of Koole’s FRAME model. The qualitative findings indicate that SLPs identify mobile apps as enabling greater mobility, allowing new therapeutic approaches, creating possibilities for practice outside the therapeutic setting and increasing children’s motivation, supporting greater persistence to practise in the context of the therapy. 相似文献

Recently, alkali-activated materials have shown great potential for use in the construction industry. The aim of this research was to study the properties of alkali-activated clay and the effect of incorporating AlF3 production waste from a fertilizer production plant. The AlF3 production waste, which was rich in alumina and silica, contributed to improved mechanical behaviour for all the mixtures investigated. This demonstrated the potential for use of this waste material. It was also noted that the dosage of Na2O, Al2O3, and SiO2 are significant factors that influence the binding mechanism and properties of alkali-activated clay samples. The raw materials, precursors, and alkali-activated samples were investigated by X-ray diffraction, fluorescence spectroscopy, and scanning electron microscopy. The highest compressive strength (17.50?MPa) was observed for alkali-activated clay samples containing 25% AlF3 production waste, with an increase in compressive strength of up to 64% compared to the samples without the AlF3 production waste. Deleterious natrite was shown to form in the samples without the production waste, which could be the reason for the lower observed mechanical properties of such samples. 相似文献
